The Government of Mexico City reported that the event aims to “bring free concerts of various musical styles to public spaces” and turn the capital into a “musical epicenter”. The Saturday program is concentrated in seven venues in the Historic Center, while on Sunday it expands to 14 points in different boroughs under the “Cuícatl: the city that sounds” program, with the participation of dozens of groups. The Capital Culture Secretariat stated that the objective is to “recover the streets, public space, and night for coexistence, promoting a free and safe party”.

The Zócalo of the capital hosts the 4th Great Sonideras and Sonideros Ball, with a continuous program that brings together more than a dozen projects. The activities include a Great Sonidero Ball in the Zócalo. It is a marathon of over 12 hours of music that starts at 11:30 in the morning and extends until 1:00 AM on Sunday, as part of the festival organized by the city government.
